For example, members could use their driver's license, DMV identification card, military ID or passport as long as it has an identifying picture and name on it.
Other non-official IDs that do not have pictures, such as social security cards will not be accepted. ID cards are non-transferable and for the exclusive use of the person named on the card. Furthermore, please do not engage in activities that may harm or injure others.A rain garden is a planted depression that allows for the absorption of rainwater runoff from urban areas such as roofs, sidewalks, driveways and lawns. Water from the rooftop of the new addition to the Ambler center will be distributed along the garden, where the plants will help remove pollutants to improve water quality and reduce flow into the storm drain system.
Once established, the garden will be self-sustaining, and the native plants will be able to survive with no fertilizer or pesticides and little maintenance. Jeff Severin, director of the Center for Sustainability, hopes the garden will raise awareness about the use of native plants to reduce the need for watering and chemical use, and inform people about stormwater management.
The rain garden was implemented by Emerging Green Builders, a coalition of students and young professionals intent on promoting the integration of future leaders into the green building movement. Emerging Green Builders also was a beneficiary of a football tailgating promotion. Lolly Tai is a Professor at Temple University and a licensed landscape architect whose work is focused on sustainable landscape design. She incorporates innovative technologies, best management practices, green infrastructure, and forwardlooking strategies into her classroom projects. The semester began with comprehensive research of case studies of healthcare facilities for users with special needs, hippotherapy, and inclusive playgrounds.
This research provided the students with a thorough knowledge of the focus of the project as well as tremendous design inspiration. They learned a great deal about successful projects in the United States and around the world. Most importantly, they learned the key design criteria integral to successful campus planning and healthcare facilities for users with special needs.
To familiarize themselves with the cultural and ecological context of the site, students conducted a thorough inventory and analysis of Temple University Ambler and the local community.
They researched history and examined land use, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, vegetation, soils, geology, slope, climate, views, materials, and utilities. They used the results of this work to inform their designs. Following analysis, Temple University students developed their design goals and objectives as well as created their concept plans.
Design ideas were presented to Vicki McGarvey and Ambler staff several times during the semester for their input. Together, the visit and presentations yielded key ideas which guided the development of the program for the project.
As the design process proceeded, students worked in four teams to develop four alternative designs for integrating Leg Up Farm on the Temple University Ambler Campus.
Each design alternative focused on creatively integrating Leg Up Farm as a facility for users with special needs on the Temple Ambler Campus, providing pleasant spaces for all users of the campus, and providing connections to adjacent buildings as appropriate.
Examining the history of the site provided a wealth of information about the campus from its inception in as the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Woman, to periods of growth and expansion in the s, s, and into its present day Temple University Ambler Campus. Located off Hendricks Street at Edgewood Drive, this natural area is a narrow 8. The walking of leased dogs is now permitted in Ambler Borough Park. Students can register alternate license plates if they drive a different vehicle; however, only one registered vehicle can be parked on campus at a time. Anyone with a valid KU parking permit, including Housing permits, may park in Yellow Lot 90 for up to two hours if going to work out at the Ambler Student Recreation Center.
You must request a temporary permit at the front desk when entering the Ambler Center and provide your license plate information. KU Parking audits the temporary permit logs to ensure people who request temporary permits have a valid parking permit and are using the recreation facilities while parked in Lot You can prepay for parking in Lot 90 with the ParkMobile app.
Enter zone in the app and pay, then park in any available Yellow stall in Lot This is an easy and convenient option for students working out at the Ambler Center who don't have a valid KU permit. If you do not have a valid permit, you must pay the full meter time once. If you receive a ticket after the initial meter payment expires, or if you have a valid KU permit, take the ticket to the front desk inside Watkins for cancellation.
KU Parking will void tickets at Watkins Health Center meters if Watkins confirms that the driver was visiting the health center during the time that the ticket was issued.
